Other things I do

I do enjoy making pictures, but, I've got few other things going on, too.

Like most people, I work. My preferred career is, and has been for about 15 years, Information Technology. I do maintain a small, infrequently updated blog about my experiences with Oracle's BPEL Process Manager on the Windows platform. Be forewarned, it's boring, unless you happen to do the same things I do.

BPEL on Windows

Like every person, I eat. I'm decent in the kitchen (although I can't bake worth a damn) and when I come up with a workable recipe for something, I post it, sometime along with a picture. Most of the recipes are complicated, but you may very well find them worth your time.

Tao, and Art of Cooking

What else? I'm a bit of a DIY-er. I've built a few decks, done some landscaping, remodeled the basement, and I build stuff for my studio. That last bit shows up on this blog when it's done (and if it works).

Below, you'll find some of the sites that I find useful - in no particular order.

The Strobist - Lighting (mostly small flash and homemade modifiers)

POTN Forums - Yes, it's a forum. Most folks on forums spend too much talking, and not enough time shooting, but this forum, geared toward Canon shooters, offers up some very nice pearls of wisdom from time to time.

KEH.com - A great place to pick up film gear. I got my Mamiya here. Their stuff is solid.

Massive Dev Chart - I use the iPhone app for my film developing. Best $7.00 I ever spent in the app store.

Blue Moon Camera - Great resource for old / obsolete film. My Minox film comes from here.

Professional Photographic Services - These guys in Wilkes-Barre do a fantastic job of developing film. I take my E6 and C41 down there. They also sell film, chemicals, paper, and odds and ends.
